WE ARE LANIADO

Aerial view of the Medical Center

The darkest days often lead to a brighter tomorrow.

Lanidado hospital was founded on the hopes, and dreams of a better tomorrow. Established by Rabbi Yekutiel Yehuda Halberstam, after miraculously surviving a gunshot wound on a forced death march in the summer of 1944. The Rabbi had lost his entire family, including his wife and 11 during the holocaust. While that may have shattered any will to fight, or even think, the Rabbi instead vowed to fight the only way he could, through the power of healing.

During the war few were the Jew’s who walked into a hospital, and managed to walk out. It was these experiences that led the Rabbi to establish the hospital in Israel which now serves a population of over 500,000 of Jews, Muslim, Druze, and Christians. Ensuring that no man, woman or child should fear receiving the care they need based on their religious beliefs or identity.

Established in 1976, originally serving as a maternity clinic, the Laniado hospital has evolved and expanded its services. It now serves as one of the leading hospitals for internal medicine, paediatrics, oncology, haematology, and Intensive care. What started as the vow between a Rabbi, and God, is now an ever expanding centre driven to save as many lives as possible as he originally intended.

Laniado is a non for profit hospital

Laniado has managed to expand based on the donations and assistance of people who share these beliefs. It was through their generous spirit’s that Laniado was able to expand; however, it seems there is still so much room to grow. The needs of the area were drastically highlighted during the pandemic. The projects that we have are there to feed the dire needs of a growing community in critical situations.

The past couple of years have been truly a blessing

Couple of magnificent wings opening starting with the new Orthopaedic Surgery ward opening in 2019 which included 8 hospitalisation rooms capable of treating up to 24 patients alongside physiotherapy, casting, ambulatory treatment, and other service rooms for medical staff.

This was then followed up by the Sheltered Maternity Ward, which included an additional 12 delivery rooms as well as two ICU delivery rooms, a triage area, and a state of the art 7-bed OBGYN emergency room with two waiting areas. This ward was opened in conjunction with the new Underground Dialysis Department this April.

However despite our incredible growth there is still much to be done. We have many projects laid out for the imminent future and beyond. These include a 40,000 sq ft. hospital tower, sheltered emergency departments and much more spanning all the way from next year through 2036.

Our staff and core values have warranted the attention of many from all over the world, and it is with their assistance that we have gotten this far. Proving that together we can change the world one soul at a time.

HOW CAN I HELP ?

For those who can assist in the massive undertaking that lies ahead, know that each penny contributed is one step towards a better tomorrow. And while the sums needed for our expanding efforts may be tremendous in size, every contribution makes a sizable dent in our efforts. We thank all those who’ve helped contribute already, and those who have yet to do so. Together we are Laniado. Together we are family.
