The pediatric ward at the Sanz Medical Center Laniado Hospital offers patients a ride in an electric Maserati car to the surgery room
The Pediatric Department at the Sanz Medical Center Laniado Hospital, headed by Dr. Michael Ben-Akon, deals with a holistic response to patients’ anxieties in preparation for various surgeries, tests and treatments. Recently, children entering surgery were offered to ride an electric Maserati car from the pediatric ward to the surgery room. Instead of a stressful and frightening experience, it has become joyful and exciting.
The Gabay family, Shlomi and Yafit, admitted their two children to an ENT surgery this morning. The entrance to the surgery room was by car, the smile on the children’s faces was hard to miss. Shlomi Gabay said this morning to the ward staff: “Amazing! It’s just amazing to see how such a scary event for us as parents, can turn into such an exciting and special event. Thank you so much!”
Dr. Michael Ben-Akon, Head of the Pediatrics Department at the Sanz Medical Center Laniado Hospital, said: “We see great importance in reducing anxiety in children at every stage of the clinical process. Reducing anxiety has a welcome clinical impact. Studies conducted on this subject have proven this many times. We will continue to offer creative solutions to patients, along with recruiting quality personnel and purchasing advanced equipment and supplies”.
