Recently, an innovative treatment for uterine fibroids was performed for the first time in our new gynecological operating room complex – using radio wave (RF) technology, which eliminates the need for complex surgeries.
This is a common problem that affects up to 50% of women, with symptoms such as bleeding, pain, and infertility.
The treatments currently available in Israel usually include medication, and often also surgical treatments – minimally invasive and even surgeries.
In this innovative treatment, a tiny needle is inserted into the center of the fibroid under ultrasound guidance, and energy is applied that shrinks it by about 60% – precisely, effectively, and safely.
The procedure was performed on two patients, who returned to their daily routine the next day – without the need for hospitalization, without surgery, and without unnecessary pain.
The innovative treatment was performed by Dr. Omer Mor, Director of the Gynecological Day Hospital, together with the ultrasound unit headed by Dr. Nir Duvdevani and with the participation of Dr. Hiali Jacobson.
The technology, manufactured by LINA and called MYOBLATE, has been used worldwide for over 20 years – and now also in Laniado.
