We have never had such a case before – life-saving reservists, literally The Home Front Command Company attached to Laniado Hospital, which arrived to reinforce the teams with the outbreak of Operation “AM KALAVI”, completed 13 days of exciting and strenuous service. But just before the liberation – a dramatic event occurred that turned the whole story into a real medical miracle. One of the soldiers, in his 40s, felt severe chest pains while working in the geriatric ward. He was immediately taken to the emergency room – and within just 12 minutes he had already undergone emergency catheterization due to a severe myocardial infarction with a 99% stenosis in the left anterior descending artery. Dr. Ilan Rabei, who catheterized him, noted that this was an immediately life-threatening stenosis, and for the soldier it was a miracle that the infarction occurred while he was here at the hospital. If, God forbid, he had been at home or at work, the outcome could have been completely different. The soldier is currently hospitalized in cardiac intensive care, under close medical supervision and in good condition. His family is staying with him, including his sister who works as a nurse here at the hospital. This case illustrates how proximity to a hospital, the professionalism of a trained team, and rapid recognition of danger can make all the difference between life and death. This is not just a miracle – it is a rare combination of timing, knowledge, and a huge heart from everyone involved. Nadav Chen, CEO of Laniado: “The soldiers of the Home Front Command came to help – and life helped them back. This is a huge miracle, and we are all thrilled with this outcome.”
