During the alarm that sounded this morning in the Sharon area, abdominal surgery was performed on a sweet premature baby at Laniado Hospital. The team of surgeons and anesthesiologists continued the operation, despite the alarms that were heard, since the premature baby complex is fully protected. As you may recall, Laniado Hospital inaugurated about three years ago, 12 protected delivery rooms, alongside a protected premature baby, equipped with advanced equipment. The delivery room and neonatal unit staff report intensive work around the clock following the many requests from women to give birth at Laniado Hospital since the start of Operation Kalavy, in light of the protection of the complexes. The delivery room staff also performs water births in the protected delivery room complex, natural and regular births, and even cesarean sections in the protected complex.

Ms. Eti Littig, the nurse in charge of the neonatal unit, said, “During Operation Guardian, they entered the new neonatal unit and had to move premature babies to the protected area. This was the last time we did this. Since we are in a protected complex, we close the doors and continue working as usual. It gives the staff and parents an incredible sense of security!”
