On the occasion of the anniversary of Laniado Hospital – a festive gala evening was held to support the construction of a protected hospital for emergency medicine in the Laniado complex
The opening event of the anniversary of the founding of Laniado Hospital was celebrated yesterday with a festive gala evening. The purpose of the gala evening was to raise funds for the flagship project in the hospital management’s five-year plan – the construction of a protected hospital for emergency medicine. The project is of national importance, in light of Operation Kalavi in which an inpatient tower at Soroka Medical Center was damaged. Protecting the emergency medical services at Laniado Hospital will allow for maintaining functional continuity in emergency situations, as well as upgrading the service provided to patients on routine days. The emergency department at Laniado Hospital is currently housed in an old, crowded building and receives about 100,000 visits a year! The protected hospital will contain 4,000 square meters of protected space – 4 times the current situation, as well as three floors of parking that will become a protected hospital in an emergency, in an emergency.
During the evening, many millions were raised to promote the project, the construction of which is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2026.
The event was attended by bereaved families and IDF wounded, including bereaved families of the hospital staff, as well as the parents of the late Lieutenant Hadar Goldin, Dr. Simcha and Leah Goldin. Dr. Goldin spoke at the event and said, “There is a saying by the late Hadar that everyone knows: “You can choose to be busy with yourself, or to be busy with big things.” Whoever came to this event chose to be busy with big things!”. The Director General of the Ministry of Health, Mr. Moshe Bar Simentov, also spoke at the event, describing the tour that took place at Laniado Hospital during the days of Operation Kalavi. “Recently, the ministry published the report dealing with the subject of patient experience and quality of service, and Laniado took first place in it! But, patient experience and clinical and nursing excellence cannot replace development and construction that are adapted to growth Demographic and Emergency Situations” .
Additional speakers at the event: Laniado Hospital CEO Nadav Chen, President of the Board of Trustees of Laniado-Israel Jacques Bar, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Laniado-Israel Kobi Schlissel. The evening was moderated by Laniado Hospital’s Vice President for Resource Development Meir Mark.
At the event, Laniado Hospital’s first Shield of Charity was awarded, a shield that is awarded annually on the gala evening. The first Shield was awarded to the philanthropist Shai Graucher, for his intensive activity on behalf of the wounded IDF men and women, the bereaved families, and the survivors of captivity.
