The purpose of the gala evening was to raise funds for the flagship project in the hospital management’s five-year plan – the construction of a protected hospital for emergency medicine. The project is of national importance, in light of Operation Kalavi in ​​which an inpatient tower at Soroka Medical Center was damaged. Protecting the emergency medical services at Laniado Hospital will allow for maintaining functional continuity in emergency situations, as well as upgrading the service provided to patients on routine days. The emergency department at Laniado Hospital is currently housed in an old, crowded building and receives about 100,000 visits a year! The protected hospital will contain 4,000 square meters of protected space – 4 times the current situation, as well as three floors of parking that will become a protected hospital in an emergency, in an emergency. During the evening, many millions were raised to promote the project, the construction of which is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2026.
