The Ministry of Health’s quality indicators report, which examines a wide range of clinical indicators, states: Laniado Hospital receives the highest possible score – 10. The report examines dozens of different indicators in the field of urgent care by the rescue organizations (pre-hospital), in the health funds, the general profile, geriatric and psychiatric hospitals and babies’ and infants’ health centers. In the score that sums up all the indicators examined, Laniado Hospital receives the highest possible score – 10, compared to hospitals of a similar scope – the category of medium and small hospitals. It should be noted that only eight hospitals in the State of Israel received this high score.
Laniado Hospital continues to maintain clinical quality in all departments, with the existence of real-time control mechanisms, which ensure maintenance of the high standards set by the Ministry of Health for the hospitalization system in the State of Israel. For example, in the index examining the primary admission to the emergency department, the department staff receives patients within only 4 minutes from the moment the case has been opened. It is important to note that this is not the first time that the team of the emergency medicine department shows success in this important index. The emergency medicine department at Laniado Hospital is one of the busiest in Israel and in 2022 received approximately 87 thousand patients.
In addition, in the index that examines performing catheterization within 90 minutes of receiving patients suffering from a sudden cardiac event, the cardiology department meets the national target, as well as many other indicators such as carotid artery duplex examination within 72 hours of the arrival of patients who are suspected of having had a stroke (TIA), performing surgery to repair a femoral neck fracture within 48 hours of the patient’s arrival at the hospital, and much more.
Prof. Zvi Shimoni, the medical director of Laniado Hospital, examined the data of the report and said: “I am looking at two important indexes: the index that examines the provision of service in the emergency medicine department (emergency room) within 4 minutes of entering the department, a department that receives about 87,000 visits per year. The success of the department’s staff in providing service in such a short period of time indicates excellent work procedures, which are embedded in all shifts and among all the staff members in the department. In addition, the general figure that examined all the indicators, in which we received the highest possible score – indicates commitment high level of all staff in all departments and units for one purpose only – providing medical and nursing service at the highest standards. The importance of meeting the goals of the national quality plan, and their direct impact on patients, cannot be underestimated”.
Mr. Nadav Chen, CEO of Laniado Hospital, received the data of the report and said: “The fact that we received the highest possible summary score speaks for itself. We know there is no magic here. It is a Sisyphean, stubborn job, which includes meticulous attention to hundreds of thousands of people and dozens of clinical and nursing work
processes. We intend, with God’s help, to continue to maintain a high clinical and nursing level, while continuing to build and develop many departments, the most important of them our flagship project – construction of an emergency medicine hospital”.
