Members of the Board of Trustees of Laniado Hospital met at the Keren Hishag House in Tel Aviv and listened to a lecture by former Air Force Commander Maj. Gen. Mr. Eliezer Shakedi. The members of the Board of Trustees, who meet several times a year, received a comprehensive overview of the hospital’s condition from the CEO of Laniado Hospital Mr. Nadav Chen, Medical Director Prof. Zvi Shimoni and Vice President of the Hospital Mr. Meir Mark. The review dealt with the financial situation, significant medical and research developments, and an update on projects in the field of construction and development. Members of the Laniado board noted to the participants the academic collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine at the Ariel University led by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Shai Ashkenazi, who was present at the event. Academic collaboration enables the absorption of a significant amount of students and interns and is an extensive base for research and academic activities in all hospital departments.
The guest lecture by former Air Force Commander Maj. Gen. Mr. Eliezer Shakedi dealt with leadership, responsibility, giving and Zionism. Shakedi noted in his remarks the steps of giving that Maimonides enumerated as well as the words of old Hillel concerning giving and doing. Another lecture was a lecture by Dr. Yael Porat, CEO of BioJensel, a start-up company whose research laboratory operates within Laniado Hospital and is developing a clinical solution for ischemic foot disease, a disease that affects billions of people around the world.
